Gillian was elected to represent the residents of South Hanningfield, Stock and Margaretting in December 2024, following the sad and untimely passing of Cllr. Ian Grundy.

Gillian was born and bred in Ramsden Heath growing up on her parents’ poultry farm and marrying in St. Margaret’s Church, Downham.  She went to Stock Primary School, where her daughter was also educated. Over the years the whole family have enjoyed being involved with the local activities in the local community.

She has been a South Hanningfield Parish Councillor for over 20 years.

Having strong connections with the five villages in the ward Gillian knows how important it is to keep them safe from over-development and protect the Green Belt.

She has known Roy Whitehead for many years who she now works in partnership with as her fellow Chelmsford City ward Councillor.
