It is with much sadness that we learned of the death of Malcolm Watson, our Councillor in Writtle.

Malcolm had been an active local volunteer for the Conservative Party since his teen years but only stood for office in 2011, when he was successfully elected as a Chelmsford City Councillor.

Our thoughts are with his wife and family and we offer our sincere condolences to them at this very sad time.

There will be the need for a by-election in the ward of Writtle and details of this will be available in due course.
